Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

By signing up to become a member of the WRPF UK, or competing on a platform sanctioned by the WRPF UK and in such case, submitting an entry form for an event with the WRPF UK you agree to accept and abide by the below set of terms & conditions.


  • 1. Introduction
    Welcome to Nottingham Strong Open LTD, T/A WRPF UK (the "Federation"). By becoming a member, participating in events, or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.


  • 2. Membership
    • 2.1 Eligibility: Membership is open to individuals who meet the age and eligibility requirements as defined by the Federation.
    • 2.2 Application: To become a member, individuals must complete the membership application form and pay the applicable fees.
    • 2.3 Membership Fees: Membership fees are non-refundable and must be paid annually.
    • 2.4 Membership Duration: All memberships expire on the final day of the year in which they are purchased. Unless otherwise stated.
    • 2.5 Termination: The Federation reserves the right to terminate membership for any violation of these T&C or any conduct deemed harmful to the Federation.


  • 3. Competitions
    • 3.1 Registration: Participants must register for competitions by the deadlines specified. Late registrations may not be accepted.
    • 3.2 Rules and Regulations: All participants must adhere to the competition rules and regulations, which are available on the Federation’s website.
    • 3.3 Code of Conduct: Participants must conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. Any form of cheating, doping (drug tested division) or unsportsmanlike behaviour is strictly prohibited
    • 3.4 Disqualification: The Federation reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates the competition rules or code of conduct.


  • 4. Code of Conduct
    • 4.1 Respect: All members and participants must treat each other, officials, and spectators with respect.
    • 4.2 Integrity: Members must uphold the integrity of the sport and the Federation.
    • 4.3 Compliance: Members must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.


  • 5. Liability
    • 5.1 Assumption of Risk: Members and participants acknowledge that powerlifting involves inherent risks, including injury and death, and agree to participate at their own risk.
    • 5.2 Waiver of Liability: The Federation and all hosting venues are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in its activities.
    • 5.3 Insurance: It is the responsibility of the members and participants to obtain appropriate insurance coverage for their activities.


  • 6. Privacy
    • 6.1 Personal Information: The Federation collects personal information for membership and competition purposes. This information will be kept confidential and used in accordance with our privacy policy.
    • 6.2 Data Protection: The Federation is committed to protecting the privacy and security of members' personal information.


  • 7. Use of Images
    • 7.1 Consent: By becoming a member of the Federation, members consent to the use of any and all images of them taken at WRPF UK events for promotional purposes on social media and other marketing materials.


  • 8. Amendments
    • 8.1 Changes to T&C: The Federation reserves the right to amend these T&C at any time. Members will be notified of any changes via the Federation’s website or email.


  • 9. Refunds and Cancellations
    • 9.1 Non-Refundable Entries: All entries are non-refundable past the point of entry. If you choose to withdraw from an event, you forfeit your place.
    • 9.2 Non-Transferable Entries: Withdrawn entries are non-transferable. This policy ensures fairness and provides others the opportunity to participate in events.
    • 9.3 Available Spaces Due to Withdrawals: Any spaces that become available due to a withdrawal will be offered via our Instagram story (@WRPF_UK) on a first-come, first-served basis. We no longer maintain a reserves list

 

  • 10. Competing in Pro Events for Monetary Prizes if You Are a Tested Lifter
    • If you are a tested lifter competing in pro events for monetary prizes, you agree to the following conditions:
    • If you fail a drug test after obtaining a monetary prize, you are required to return the full amount of the prize to Nottingham Strong Open LTD, T/A WRPF UK within 48 hours of notification of the failed test.
    • Failure to return the prize money within the specified timeframe will result in legal action being taken to recover the funds.


  • 11. Inclusion of Equipped Lifting on WRPF UK Platforms
  • We currently only offer a singular category for equipped. This is inclusive of both Single &                        Multiply equipment of which meets the standards in our technical rule book.
  • Open back band shirts are not permitted to be used on platform due to the safety concerns around them in regard to the lifter, also our platform teams and staff.
