Terms & Conditions

WRPF UK — Terms and Conditions 

WRPF LTD trading as WRPF UK

These Terms and Conditions govern membership, event participation, testing, and all services provided by WRPF LTD trading as WRPF UK (“WRPF UK”, “we”, “us”, “the Federation”).


By purchasing membership, entering an event, or participating in any WRPF UK sanctioned activity, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.


1. Legal Entity and Scope

1.1 WRPF UK is operated by WRPF LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. 

1.2 These Terms apply to:

- All members 

- All competitors 

- Event participants 

- Volunteers and officials 

- Coaches and handlers 

- Any person participating in or supporting WRPF UK sanctioned activities.


2. Acceptance of Terms

2.1 By purchasing membership, submitting an entry, or attending an event, you confirm that you:

- Have read these Terms 

- Understand them 

- Agree to be legally bound by them 

2.2 Participants under 18 must have these Terms accepted by a parent or legal guardian.


3. Membership Terms

3.1 Eligibility 

Membership is open to individuals who meet WRPF UK eligibility criteria.

3.2 Application 

Membership is valid only when:

- The application is completed 

- Payment is received and cleared 

3.3 Duration 

Membership expires on 31 December of the purchase year unless otherwise stated.

3.4 Fees 

Membership fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

3.5 Suspension or Termination 

WRPF UK may suspend or terminate membership without refund where a member:

- Breaches these Terms 

- Breaches the rulebook or testing policy 

- Provides false information 

- Brings the Federation into disrepute 

- Acts in a way that threatens safety, fairness, or integrity

3.6 Effects of Termination may include:

- Event removal 

- Result disqualification 

- Record removal 

- Title stripping 

- Ban from future events


4. Competition Entry and Participation

4.1 Entries must be submitted before stated deadlines. Late entries may be refused.

4.2 Qualification standards must be met and may be verified. Invitations issued in error may be revoked.

4.3 All competitors must comply with the WRPF UK Technical Rulebook.

4.4 Referee decisions on the platform are final. We do not review footage or make decisions after the fact.


5. Code of Conduct

5.1 All participants must behave respectfully toward:

- Officials 

- Staff 

- Volunteers 

- Competitors 

- Spectators 

- Venue personnel 

5.2 Prohibited behaviour includes:

- Abuse or harassment 

- Threatening behaviour 

- Cheating or misrepresentation 

- Attempt manipulation 

- Doping violations 

- Dangerous conduct 

5.3 WRPF UK may remove any individual from an event without refund for misconduct.


6. Drug Testing and Anti-Doping Obligations

6.1 Tested Membership 

Members selecting tested membership agree to full compliance with:

- WRPF UK Testing Policy 

- WRPF UK banned substance list 

- All testing procedures and investigations

6.2 Strict Liability Principle 

Tested athletes are strictly responsible for any prohibited substance found in their body, regardless of intent, source, or circumstances.

6.3 Testing Authority 

WRPF UK may require any tested athlete to undergo:

- In-competition testing 

- Out-of-competition testing 

- Random testing 

- Targeted testing 

- Re-testing of stored samples where applicable

6.4 Refusal or Evasion 

Refusal, evasion, tampering, or failure to comply with testing procedures is treated as a failed test.

6.5 Sample Handling 

Athletes must follow all instructions of testing officials. Failure to do so invalidates the test and constitutes a violation.

6.6 Provisional Suspensions 

WRPF UK may impose immediate provisional suspension pending investigation of an adverse finding.

6.7 Sanctions 

Testing violations may result in:

- Disqualification of results 

- Loss of records and titles 

- Prize money forfeiture 

- Event bans 

- Membership termination 

- Public reporting of sanction outcomes

6.8 Medication and Therapeutic Use

WRPF UK:

- Does not provide medical advice 

- Does not approve medications 

- Does not authorise treatment changes 

If you are prescribed medication that appears on the banned list:

- You must consult your prescribing professional 

- You must not alter treatment without medical supervision 

6.9 Medical Risk Acknowledgement 

Any decision to stop, reduce, or alter prescribed medication to compete tested is entirely at your own risk. WRPF UK accepts no liability for resulting health consequences.

6.10 Supplements Warning 

Athletes acknowledge that supplements carry contamination risk. Use of supplements is entirely at the athlete’s risk.

6.11 Investigations 

WRPF UK reserves the right to investigate suspected violations using:

- Test results 

- Documentation 

- Witness evidence 

- Digital evidence 

- Competition data patterns


7. Pro Events — Prize Money and Testing

7.1 Tested athletes who win prize money and later fail a drug test must repay the full amount within 48 hours of notification.

7.2 Failure to repay authorises WRPF LTD to:

- Initiate debt recovery 

- Pursue legal proceedings 

- Recover reasonable legal costs where permitted.


8. Health and Safety — Assumption of Risk

8.1 Powerlifting involves inherent risks including serious injury and death.

8.2 Participation is voluntary and entirely at your own risk.

8.3 You confirm you are medically fit to compete.

8.4 WRPF UK does not perform medical screening or clearance.


9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Nothing excludes liability for:

- Death or personal injury caused by negligence 

- Fraud 

- Any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law

9.2 Subject to that, WRPF LTD is not liable for:

- Injury during participation 

- Property loss or damage 

- Equipment loss 

- Travel or accommodation costs 

- Indirect or consequential loss

9.3 Liability is limited to the amount paid for entry or membership.


10. Insurance

Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance coverage. WRPF UK does not provide individual competitor insurance.


11. Event Entries — Refunds and Transfers

11.1 Entries are non-refundable once submitted except where required by law.

11.2 Withdrawn entries are not transferable.

11.3 If WRPF UK cancels an event:

- A refund or credit may be offered at our discretion 

- No liability is accepted for travel or accommodation losses.

11.4 Vacated spaces may be reallocated publicly. No reserve list obligation exists.


12. Results, Records and Rankings

12.1 WRPF UK may correct, amend, or remove results where:

- Errors are discovered 

- Rule breaches are identified 

- Testing violations occur

12.2 Records may be revoked following sanctions.


13. Media and Image Rights

13.1 By attending or competing, you grant WRPF LTD the right to use images and video of you for:

- Promotion 

- Broadcast 

- Livestream 

- Social media 

- Marketing materials

13.2 No compensation is payable.


14. Data Protection

14.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14.2 Data is used for membership, competition, regulatory, and safety purposes.


15. Amendments

WRPF UK may amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published. Continued participation constitutes acceptance.


16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
